Renewal by Andersen® of Phoenix offers two contemporary sliding door models: the Narroline® and the Perma-Shield®. Being different products, they boast unique features to appeal to every home improvement need. They have practically the same anatomy, however, to deliver the brand of quality and performance we’ve always been known for.
Here are the similarities between our Narroline and Perma-Shield sliding contemporary doors:
Unlike hollow-core vinyl units, our patio doors have solid jambs. They’re constructed with laminated veneer lumber for durability and energy efficiency. Covered with water-resistant cladding, they are impervious to moisture damage and require little maintenance to stay in good shape.
Our contemporary doors may have narrow framing, but they guarantee long-lasting structural integrity. For instance, our Narroline door system utilizes mortise-and-tenon joinery for sturdy frame construction.
Like our windows and hinged French door system, our contemporary sliding doors use our innovative Low-E4 glass. It features a spectrally selective, multi-layer Low-E coating, argon gas filling, a stainless steel spacer and dual seal. Certified by ENERGY STAR®, its ratings meet the Southern Climate Zone’s energy efficiency requirements necessary for Maricopa County communities.
Dual Ball-Bearing Rollers
They ensure smooth operation for decades. Gliding on dual ball-bearing rollers with self-contained leveling adjusters, they are heavy but only need little effort to open and close.
To increase security and weathertightness, our sliding doors are reinforced with a distinctive reach-out locking mechanism. When activated, the lock pulls the active panel into the jamb. Also, you have the option to add an auxiliary foot lock to leave the door ajar for ventilation without sacrificing safety.
Our Narroline and Perma-Shield doors keep the interior draft-free when in a closed and locked position. They have interlocking panels with continuous weatherstripping to eliminate air infiltration and help provide energy savings.
The hardware finishes of our patio doors are as tough as they’re stunning. The Estate collection offers eight metallic options, including antique brass, polished chrome, satin nickel and distressed bronze. Our bronze finishes have a “living” patina that grows lovelier with time and use, while the others resist tarnish and corrosion.
